Government Medical College, Kasaragod: MBBS Seats, Fees and Admission 2026

Government Medical College, Kasaragod is one of the two smallest government medical colleges in Kerala, with Wayanad. It has 50 MBBS seats for 2026-27 at the government fee of ₹23,150 a year. This page explains what the 2026 CEE allotment tables show for the college, how its seats are split, and what a student who cannot get a government seat can realistically do.

In short: Government Medical College, Kasaragod has 50 MBBS seats for 2026-27. The 2026 CEE last-rank tables show no general state-merit allotment at Kasaragod in rounds 1 and 2; check the community columns. Tuition is ₹23,150 a year, about ₹1.04 lakh for the whole course. A student without a government seat chooses between a self-financing seat at ₹36–42 lakh and a Russian state university at ₹16–32 lakh in tuition.

Kasaragod Medical College cut off 2026: what the CEE tables show

The CEE last-rank tables of 2026 show no general state-merit allotment at Kasaragod in either the first or the second round. With only 50 seats the general state-merit share is small, and the tables do not give the reason for the empty column. Read the community-wise columns on the CEE last-rank page before you plan on this college.

The general state-merit column is not the only way in. Government seats are split by community: 50% state merit, 10% economically weaker sections, 30% for the backward classes listed in the prospectus, 8% Scheduled Caste and 2% Scheduled Tribe. The CEE last-rank page gives the figure for every community and every college, so a student in a reserved category should read that column, not the general one. For comparison, the main government colleges closed their general state-merit seats between ranks 205 and 804 in round 2.

Kasaragod Medical College MBBS fees

A government seat costs ₹23,150 a year in tuition under G.O.(Ms) No. 92/2023/H&FWD, with a caution deposit of ₹2,320, a miscellaneous fee of ₹1,740 and a van fee of ₹1,740, a total of ₹28,950 for the year. Over the 54 months of study the tuition is about ₹1.04 lakh. Hostel and mess are extra and modest. Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and certain other eligible communities admitted on merit are exempted from fees under the prospectus rules.

Government-college graduates are bound by the service conditions in the KEAM prospectus for their year; read the bond clause before you join.

All main government medical colleges: seats and last ranks 2026

The government colleges fill in a fixed order of preference, and the gap between the first and the last is only a few hundred ranks. If your KEAM rank is above about 800, no government seat is realistic in the state-merit rounds, whichever district you live in.

Two things move these numbers from year to year: the number of Kerala candidates who qualify NEET, and how many top rankers take All India Quota or AIIMS seats instead. The 2026 NEET re-exam raised the qualifying marks and shifted many ranks, so compare your rank with this year's table, not with 2025 figures quoted by coaching centres.

No seat at Kasaragod Medical College? Why a Russian university beats a late self-financing seat

This is the comparison most families ask us for, point by point, with the figures from the official orders.

No rank race

NEET qualifying mark

Kasaragod showed no general state-merit allotment in the first rounds of 2026, and the self-financing colleges closed by about 10,800. A Russian state university admits on the NEET-UG qualifying mark and 50% in Class 12 physics, chemistry and biology (40% for reserved categories). No state rank list, no waiting for rounds.

Lower total tuition

₹16–32 lakh

Six years of tuition at a Russian state university, against ₹36.5–41.9 lakh for a Kerala self-financing seat over 54 months. The difference usually covers hostel and flights for the whole course.

Price fixed before you fly

In your contract

The fee for foreign students is set in the university's price order and written into your contract year by year. In Kerala the Fee Regulatory Committee refixes fees, and hostel and special fees come on top.

Transparent payment

Invoice from the university

Fees go to the university's bank account against its invoice. There is no capitation, no management-seat payment and no booking amount to a middleman.

No lost year

Admission into autumn

Many Russian universities accept Indian students into October and November. A student who misses the last KEAM round can still start medicine in the same academic year.

Choose by results

54 universities

You pick from 54 English-medium universities on our list and see each one's FMGE results; the best pass more than one candidate in three. In Kerala, at a late rank, you take the seat that is left.

What Russia does not give you: home food, a Kerala hospital during the course, and a licence without the exam. Every graduate of a foreign university must pass FMGE (later NExT) and do a year of internship in India. Choose a university with strong FMGE results and plan the exam from the first year.

The admission steps are the same as for every Kerala college: NEET-UG, the KEAM application with the medical course, the NEET score upload, the rank list, option registration and allotment, then joining with the fee within the deadline. Kasaragod Medical College is in Kasaragod district, the northernmost in Kerala.

Three rules decide whether a Russian degree is worth anything back home. The NMC Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations 2021 require at least 54 months of study in English, a 12-month internship at the same university, and a licence to practise in Russia; then the graduate must pass FMGE (to be replaced by NExT) and do 12 more months of internship in India. Across all Russian universities about one candidate in four passed FMGE in 2022–2025, but the spread is wide: Orenburg 38.6%, Privolzhsky 36.9%, Smolensk 35.4%, Mordovia 32.0%, while several others are under 15%.
