MBBS in Russia Blog: Answers for Kerala Students and Parents

Short, sourced answers to the questions Kerala families ask before and during MBBS in Russia: which NEET score is needed, what is taught, how many years it takes, what FMGE and NExT mean, and what student life is like. Every post names its sources and says what we could not verify.

Where to start: if you are choosing between Kerala and Russia, read MBBS in Russia vs India first. If you have your NEET score, read the NEET cut-off post and eligibility. If you have already decided, go to the timeline and then admission.

How this blog works

The main pages of this site, on fees, universities, FMGE pass rates and admission, hold the data. The blog holds the explanations: one question per post, answered in the first paragraph, with the numbers, the rule behind them and the places where the answer depends on the family. We write for the student and for the parents who will pay the fees and ask the harder questions.

Each post names the documents it comes from: NMC regulations and FAQs, NBEMS bulletins and reports, the NTA's results, CEE Kerala notices, university curricula and price lists, the Central Bank of Russia rate. When a figure comes from a news report and not from the official notice, the post says so. When we could not confirm something, the post says that too, and tells you what to ask the university. Nothing here is a promise of admission, a seat or an FMGE result. The editorial policy explains how we check facts and who we are; about us names the company behind the site.

Choosing: India or Russia, score, age and eligibility

These posts help a family decide whether MBBS in Russia is the right option, before any money is paid.

The course: subjects, years, exams and internship

These posts explain what happens between joining the university and registration in India.

What to ask a university in writing before you pay

Almost every post ends in the same few questions. Put them to the university, not only to an agent, and keep the replies with your admission papers.

  • Is the General Medicine group taught in English in all six years, including the clinical years?
  • How are the six years divided, and where is the 12-month internship shown on the transcript?
  • Can you send the curriculum of General Medicine 31.05.01 with hours per subject for my intake?
  • What was the FMGE result of your graduates in each of the last four years, and how many appeared?
  • What is the tuition for each of the six years in the contract, and in which currency is it fixed?
  • How does a foreign graduate get the licence to practise in Russia that the NMC requires, and what document is issued?

Ask for each answer on the university's letterhead or by email from its international office. If any answer is vague, or comes only by phone from an agent, treat that as information. Our NMC rules page explains why each of these questions matters for registration in India.

The blog sits beside the longer guides. For the cost of the course see MBBS in Russia fees and education loans. For documents see NORKA attestation and apostille. For the NMC conditions that a Russian degree must meet, see the NMC rules. New posts are added as we verify the facts, so a post you expect may be published later; the list above shows the ones planned. If a number in a post looks out of date, tell us. We prefer a correction to an old figure.
